Fascinating read, but what he is saying is somewhat impractical.
Dragonlich, as usual, has addressed the two things i wanted to pick on, primarily that this idea that we are a figment of someone elses imagination has been around for many years, and that his potentials scenarios are somewhat incompete.
Anyway, with regards to technology -
Maybe a very large bleeding edge distributed computer network could successfully simulate a single brain with its full functional capability. Factor in 6 billion such brains, plus some sort of massive background system that applies all the laws of our universe to everything, and you'd have one incredibly powerful system requirement... Something that i don't think we could achieve for a very very long time. Then again, creating color graphics on a desktop workstation was impossible 20 years ago =)
Actually, come to think about it, its a good explanation for all the supernatural tales circling around... bugs in the code =)
