Well I think we definitely
do "give a shit," but only when the time comes when you're forced to get in the bus to boot camp. Until then, it's just a theoretical possibility that you don't really take seriously. It's like every time you get into a car you could die a horrible death, but you never take the risk seriously until you see the headlights speeding your direction down the wrong side of the road.

Definitely true. So does that mean that whenever we're in a war where we have a shortage of willing soldiers, we should pull out? If so then you could make an excellent case that that particular argument applies right now to the Iraq war.
