I had terrible problems with AMD athlon cpu's.... It was always overheating and it ended up overheating my GPU and causing terrible visual problems etc.. I tried just about everything to get the heat down. Put Arctic Silver thermal paste on it, and even got to the point where I ran my comp with the cover off and a large room fan blowing through it. After a long and annoying return process with Newegg( they actually broke their return policy for me) I bought a Intel cpu and have been ever since.
