I feel I have to inform about averages.
There are 3 types, mean, median, and mode.
Mean is what is normally thought of as the average, all the values are added up then divided by the total number of samples.
Median is the middle number after you have sorted the numbers smallest to largest, so if the numbers where 1, 1, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 10, the median is 6. (In this case the sample size was 7, an odd number, if it was an even number, then you take the two middle numbers and divide by 2)
And the mode is the most common value, in the case above the mode would be 1.
As you can see when someone says they have the average of something it can be misleading, in the case above the average could be 1, 6, or 5.3
