6 months and he's thinking of taking off? I understand his reluctance to go to prison, but if he runs, he better run far, and I'm not sure 6 months is worth it.
Unless he's planning to leave the country make sure he understands that they'll almost certainly catch up with him sooner or later. He'll run a stoplight in the wrong town and they'll pick him up, then hold him and extradite him. He might have a chance at starting over in another country, but again, I don't know if that's worth 6 months.
