I know a similar joke about golf:
Two guys are golfing, when they see a funeral procession drive by the golf course. The first guy takes off his hat and waits in respectful silence while the cortege passes by.
The second guy says "Gee, I didn't realize you were so respectful!"
Says the first guy, "Well, she was a good wife..."
