I think that assistant dude is a secret service agent, right? Maybe you're talking about someone else, but i don't think he's gonna be around much. I felt he was just there to help with the flushing-out-the-mole part, then he'll be on his way.

I'm with you there... the woman who plays Driscoll, and the character herself actually, are pretty much the worst part of the show for me. I just don't care about the character at all, and her horrible acting isn't helping things.
I think CTU needs to review their torture policy (do they have one??). They've now severely tortured two innocent people, one of them their own agents. a little too much masochism going on there.
