In Australia we would never put "oclock" on any invitation (because 2PM or 10AM is enough information - every time is oclock
), so I've learned something today, but my wife thinks oclock looks grand, but is descriptive enough on its own (unless you think your guests might turn up at 2am for a wedding).
Our wedding invites were along the same lines as Bryndian's yule thingys but much simpler. My wife got the cardboard printed with a swirly pattern, then used a tracing paper (which is like Byrndian's vellum, but I thought vellum was a heavier paper used for calligraphy...) and stuck the insert in with glue. This was just put in an envelope with no ribbon or anything.

Also RE the castle picture = have you thought of using the spires of an old church perhaps? you might find a better picture.
