I agree that they have never really casted "ordinary people. I can understand why they don't want "ordinary" people - they want big personalities and conflict. I don't like when the result of this is a cast filled with people who look the same, have the same backgrounds, and are pursuing similar careers. There are too many models, aspiring actors and actresses, etc. on these shows... I don't think that the producers are interested in casting a diverse group of people.
That said, I will continue to watch Amazing Race.
