WS6_KID:
Like a few posters I've seen so far, I strongly recommend that you reconsider this behavior:
Here are a few pathogenic organisms in fecal material:
Shigella dysenteriae (~10,000,000 cells per gram of feces!):
Symptoms of Shigellosis: bloody diarrhea (dysentery)
Not usually fatal, but likely to cause hospitalization
Can cause hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopena, acute renal failure (HUS)
Escherichia coli:
Produces Shigella-like toxins, can lead to HUS mentioned above.
Strain 0157-H7 can kill
Hepatitis viruses:
Jaundice, anorexia, vomiting, profound malaise
Yersinia enterocolitica:
Abdominal pain and diarrhea
And these are just the ones I could find in 5 minutes.
I suggest you analyze the cost/benefit ratio of this activity. Is it really worth it?
