Granted, it's good that he's encouraging his employees to live healthier lifestyles and he's even offering them help to become healthier. That's what I think is good.
What concerns me is the precedent this may be setting. This was discussed at length in the other thread, so there probably isn't a whole lot of new information to be discussed in this one, but I still find it unsettling. What standards are going to be used? Will we all be at the whims of an employer to spontaneously decide what we're allowed to do?
The argument is used that a private employer can hire and fire at will, but how much are we willing to give up? What if - and this is a stretch, I know - but what if your employer decides that he wants all his employees to attend the same church? When do we say enough is enough?
