I have had many troubles with my dad's credit history affecting my credit history too. Just like in your case cleanx, we have the same name. You are going to have to file a dispute with one of the bureaus and they'll hopefully remove the bankruptcy, and inform the other bureaus of the mistake. I had roughly 6 or 7 credit items on my credit report that actually belonged to my dad (and mom). Experian's report even stated that my spouse was my mom! Everything was removed except one court judgement for a dentist that my parents couldn't afford to pay. When I disputed it, Experian said the court confirmed that it was me. Unfortunately, the court case had no social secuity number, no birth date on the record. Since I had the same name and lived at the same address at the time, the have no way to prove that it wasn't me (talk about guilty until proven innocent). I hope this isn't the case for your situation.
Moral of the story, since you share a common name with your dad you have to be vigilent in checking your credit report and making sure things stay accurate.
