I realize there are many directions in which a discussion of this can go. One of the things I'm particularly interested in is related to the discussion in
this thread. One might think that since the Bush/Gore election, 9/11, and the Iraq War, many of the attitudes shown in this article may have changed. However, it seems as though they haven't. I think that, perhaps, this has to do with certain general social attitudes already being socialized into the general personalities of this generation. I'm particularly interested in what kind of trends we will see in 4-6 years.
Oh, and before someone decides to be smart and point it out, I'm fully aware that this is regarding on extreme end of the population. Having grown up in a middle class home and having gone to school with many people from upper middle class and even upper class as well, I am capable of stating with a bit of certainty that, while it's obviously not quite as bad as this extreme example, many of the basic observations are still applicable.
