The Car

Studebakers, Packards, Hudsons and more.
Head light dimmer switches were on the floor.
Heaters mounted on the inside of the firewall.
Unreliable cars that sometimes would stall.
Ignition switches on the dashboard.
Expensive cars that few could afford.
To turn you would signal with an arm out the door
Not having a car didn’t mean you were poor.
Car owners usually had white starched collars.
Cars cost only three or four hundred dollars.
Most with a car had to park on the street.
Granddad had a garage - that was really neat!

My first bj was in Granddad's garage - it was great!
