We need to learn how to fix these people, not punish them.

Helping confused, depressed, suicidal people is one thing, but this man is completely responsible for taking the lives of 11 people and injuring many more. I agree that we need to learn more about helping these people BEFORE they do something, but what's done is done in Alvarez's case. What good is helping him now that he has human blood on his hands? I'd think the severe depression from knowing this would just multiply his reasons for wanting to kill himself, and I wouldn't blame him nor stop him.
