haha, nice point. but it's entirely possible. I'm not going to get into it (unless someone asks me to), and plus it's off subject and I've already gotten into it in other sports forum topics, but this USC team wasn't even nearly at the full strength many thought it would be after the '03 season. So many key players did not play for so many different reasons, yet the team still rolled to a NC.
but back on the topic of the draft...two players that I am very familiar with that I feel aren't getting the love they deserve and will be steals for their respective teams are USC defensive linemen, Shaun Cody and Mike Patterson. The two formed the best DT tandem in the nation this past year and were the keys to a dominant USC defense the past 3 seasons. both are formidable in their own right and have been taught by the best D-line coach in the nation (Ed Orgeron, now head coach at Ole Miss, and former D-line coach at Miami coaching the likes of Warren Sapp, etc.).
Shaun has some of the best swim moves I've ever seen and can shed blocks and go around or through offensive linemen. He's also very versatile, as he played every spot on the D-line while at SC.
Mike "Baby Sapp" Patterson has the quickest move off the ball you will see out of any nose tackle on any level of the game. He's a relentless rusher and you'll see him in on every single play and harrassing quarterbacks all over the NFL.
