Are you suggesting that the Eagles are the anti-Patriots? Excluding the 2004 offseason, the Eagles haven't gone after the big name free agents. And the interesting thing is that I think the Eagles are as much of a
team as the Pats are. My best example of this is two former players who left for higher dollars elsewhere, were released after a year or two, and came back to Philly for substantially less money. Both Trotter and Douglas indicated that leaving for higher money was the wrong thing to do, and that they were happiest with the Eagles. (And the Pats may not have gone after receivers, but a running back.....)
Excluding T.O., their Pro-Bowlers are almost all home grown talent, and I don't think any of them are considered primadonnas. I don't see any Deion Sanders or Randy Moss types in the bunch. I may be a homer, but don't knock the Eagles to praise the Pats. These two franchises should be the example of well run organizations. When you get to the end of the season, look at number of wins and salary cap space, and I can guarantee the Pats and the Eagles will both be in the top echelon in both.
