At one town I lived in there was a lady next door who kept an immaculate yard with lush green grass and beautiful flowers. I lived in a four plex & we all shared the same huge back yard. It was four families & we all had kids. This wonderful neighbour (in the duplex next-over) would bring her dogs over, open the gate & let her dogs do their business in our yard.
One of the women in our four-plex saw her doing this one morning & promptly scooped up all the doggie crap in the yard (we had assumed all the crap had been deposited there by stray dogs) and deposited it on her front step.
I don't know if she stepped in it on her way to work or not, but it got rid of the dog poop problem.
