depends on the type of film. any film speed faster than 400 is affected by xrays. infrared is definitely affected, and certain "different" types of film will be affected. however, xray machines are getting more powerful, and ive heard cases of ISO 200 film being ruined. this is only for film that is not yet developed/processed. if your film is already processed, you have nothing to worry about.
if youre carrying film, do not put it in checked luggage, as the more powerful xray machines are used for those.
