i had not seen the original show before this past weekend. I have to say that the new show grabbed me in a way a Sci-fi TV show has failed to do since for a long time. Firefly was wonderful, but doomed to the fact that it was on Fox on Friday nights.
Galactica has everything I want in military sci-fi. Cool plans, shit blowing up and massive amounts of human and real tragedy. This show is really about the genocide of the human race. To that end it does wonderful.
When show opens it has been almost 6 days since the last time anyone slept, but everyone carried on. They were doing what was right for their own survival. This is the kind of stuff that gets what it means to be human. Not some dumb reality tv bullshit.
