The gamecube is capable of better graphics than the PS2... and this game was built FOR gamecube and will be ported to PS2...
With that said, the PS2 version will no doubtly still hold its ground, and will have a few extra feature or something to encourage your purchase (like Viewtiful Joe got when it was ported to PS2)
