I watched the original show back in the '70s even when my friends laughed at me. I was in my teens, and I liked it, hokey though it was.
I've raised my standards since then, and the new Battlestar Galactica is in all ways a better show than the original, and yet....
It just doesn't grab me. Too grim, too relentless, doesn't ever let up. The miniseries was okay, but I found myself zoning out during the first too regular episodes. They need a character to speak up every five minutes and say "Attention please: EVERYTHING IS GOING TO HELL! Thank you.." Because that's about where the series is at right now.
I'll give it another try, but I wasn't particularly compelled by it.
