That works fairly well. Same with playing coverage. If one on one and the ball is thrown deep, switch right before it gets there and swat it. Or if a pick is heading your way, it's an easy way to make sure you get the interception.
Also, I've found that when you learn how switch to the receiver early to complete a path/break to the ball, you'll almost never throw an incomplete pass. You just have to be really good at it and learn how to use quarterback control extremely well also.
