In addition to racking the weights after use, I also take the pin out of the weight stack machines when I'm done and lay it on the stack. Also when I'm done with a handle or grip (on the cable machines) I unhook it and put it in a crate with the rest. These are habits I learned by watching others at my gym.
I've done some weird exercises at the gym, just for kicks. The gym can get damn boring otherwise.
The weirdest thing I ever saw at the gym was a guy with a cloth sheet in each hand, waving them like a semaphore but super-fast. This was for about five minutes straight. It must have been an extremely aerobic routine, because he was ripped.
