I love her recipes because it's good old fashioned home cookin'. They are simple, tasty, with a lot of robust flavors, except her dorky wine geek son drives me nuts, and her family needs to stay off the show. That and she talks with her mouth full which makes me insane.
On PBS, I really like America's Cooking, or whatever it's called-- it's from the kitchens of Cooks Illustrated magazine (a magazine that I really like) Chris Kimball, the host, is a typical New Englander, very very dry, but he's not bothersome. The recipes are easy to follow, and I love the best of things that they do - with canned tomatoes, canned chicken stock, stuff like that -- they'll tell you what is the best - it's kind of like the consumer reports of cooking.
