If you are playing with rope, pay particular attention to the color of the hands of the person being tied up... It's very easy to tie the ropes too tightly and cut off the circulation, which can be a really bad thing.

If you are the one doing the tying up, don't tie such elaborate knots that you can't release the person in an instant (see above precaution)

Have a knife nearby if you need to cut the ropes quickly.
