A backpack will be fine for carry on. Bring your film with you in your backpack. The last time I flew, I was able to take it out and put it in a tray with pocket change, etc. and it was fine ( I use advantix too). The razor should be fine as long as it is in your checked luggage; I've never had a problem with bringing a razor as long as it wasn't in my carry on.
