Are you saying you have a burned copy, skinnymofo? If you do, then you are not hearing it in the true 5.1 surround it was encoded in. There is still no method of copying SACD's.
To answer the original question, I think the re-release is great. I only have the SACD version right now, but I plan to get the DVD-Audio version when money permits. I cannot comment on what difference the 5.1 makes, as I have only listened to it in stereo. What I can tell you (as with any high resolution audio) one needs to have a system of a certain caliber to be able to hear any difference at all. I haven't had much intimate time with it (sold speakers, new ones coming in Feb.) but I picked up some subtle textures in songs such as Mr Self Destruct and Closer that I had never heard before. This is an album that seriously makes me want to do a multichannel setup sooner than I had planned just to see what Trent has up his sleeve on the multichannel track. I was surprised to see the 2nd disc (the B sides) was an SACD as well. There are rough cuts of Closer and Ruiner that are really cool. All in all, this album is DEFINITELY worth buying.
