Help smoothing a crease in leather
Hello
I've recently purchased a leather coat for myself as my old heavy jacket was about worn out. My parents came along to help out. At the store I found a jacket I liked, but there was a funny crease in the collar, like in shipping it had been smooshed so the collar on one side looks a little funny. It's hard to explain without pics, and I am without a digital camera to take them. Anyway both my parents thought the crease would probably smooth out after a day or so under some books. I've had it sitting flat under several very heavy books all day and I see little to no improvment. I know leather shouldn't be ironed, and I I've tried to stretch the leather a bit to smooth it out all to no avil. Does anyone have any tricks or tips on how to smooth this out. I can live with it, since it doesn't make the collar stick straight out, but I'd like to fix it if possible.
