well, in that case, stay as far away from linkin park, matchbox 20, 3EB, and any bands that bare resemblance to them!
as far as sevendust and disturbed, sounds like melodic metal is the theme... check out mudvayne, tool, incubus (especially from S.C.I.E.N.C.E.), killswitch engage, and older deftones stuff.
