Heavy work out program
I'm 18 years old, 5"11, 158 lbs 8 ounces. I've been working out for a year and a half on a regular basis. I am in pretty good shape, actually very good shape I guess. I have decent sized muscles and I am fairly toned.
Currently I go to the gym probably 4 times a week. I switch between doing arms and upper body and abs and lower body and abs. My work out on an upper body day consists of 3 sets of 10 on the bench at 125 lbs (I don't know how much maximum I can bench, but probably around 145-155), 3 sets of 10 on each arm of curls at 25 lbs, 3 sets of 10 of tricep pull-down things at 110lbs, 3 sets of 12 shoulder shrug things with 55 lb weights, and a whole ab routine.
Leg day consists of a lot of squats and stuff for my calves. I am doing ok in the leg department I think.
The other day I saw some college football players practicing at a football field around here. All those feelings I felt about being big and tough quickly vanished. These guys were huge. Gigantic.
What would be the best way to pump up the size in a medium to high paced fashion? I have changed a bit since I started working out, but at this pace it would really take me forever to get to the size I want. How do those guys get from my size in high school to huge football players over the course of a year? There has to be something I'm doing wrong. Should I go for less reps of higher wieght? Or more of the same? Are there any other things I might want to do to help me really bulk up?
If anyone can lend any pointers or show me someplace where I can find the key to becoming massive, please, give this kid a hand! I can work hard, I have lots of frustrations that I like to burn off at the gym.
