Had to go with dance/techno because 'pop' wasn't there. I can really have a deep abiding hatred for any kind of "manufactured group" music. God I hate pop. Really I guess it's good it wasn't there because it's not music it's its own horrible thing.
Otherwise if i were to stop ranting, I chose techno/dance over, say Country because there is some really great old country and really nothing that is techno can ever be a classic. It self defines itself as a phenomenon of the moment. It's entirely reactive and damn near dependent, so it would seem, on well, things other than it's quality as listenable music. That being said, anything, as Derwood said, that is 'Nasvhille pop' is also godawful, while Willie and crew rule the day. Though as other have noticed nearly every genre has at least a few bright spots and a lot of shit.
