It's important to note that many STDs, including HPV, can be transmitted even when you don't see any external lesions (e.g. warts, blisters, ulcers etc.). Many carriers (especially male) can be honestly unaware that they have Herpes, Chlamydia or even HIV because the infection can be unseen. So, even if you don't see any warts or sores I'd still be cautious if I were you. HPV is notorious for sitting around in the body for YEARS even before showing any lesions. So a single PAP won't clear you - it's something you need to get regularly as long as you're sexually active.

You're only 19 so I'm going to get a little preachy right now. I've seen young folks who contracted HIV, syphilis or Hepatitis from only a couple of unlucky encounters (even with "nice", educated and upper-class people). I'm not saying you shouldn't have fun (God knows I should talk), but you shouldn't have to learn about the "ugly" part of life the hard way, understand?

I'll be the first to admit that I had my "irresponsible" fun years ago - I just consider myself lucky that I never got anything serious - but I know people who have - please don't become one of them.
