As for the battery life of the new iPods, i've found it to be much improved from the previous generation iPods. I used to get about 7 hours out of my 3rd generation iPod, and now I get about 12 hours with shuffle on.

Thanks for the clairification  I'm tempted to buy a replacement battery for my Ipod now. I wonder how hard the DIY is.
