Yeah, Nerves can cause lots of problems.
From not being able to orgasm, not being able to get up, or sometimes going to fast.
My first time ever having sex was quick. But now, my first time having sex with a new girl, it is harder to finish.
My friend just had a story like yours recently, first time with a new girl, he just kept going. The problem with his was, his condom didn't hold up, so at the end he found out he had lost the condom. Scary thing for them.
Moral: until you work this out, change condoms for such long sessions.
