As I girl, I can imagine this to be true because most chatty girls are somewhat insecure and compensate by being ultra-friendly. Whereas shy girls may also be insecure, but they would compensate with actions, not words. So you'd get a chatty girl who tries to make you like her by talking nicely and telling jokes, and a shy girl who tries to make you like her by baking cookies and giving head. It's no surprise the guys don't like chatty girls, if my theory is true.
[edit] plus also when you take a break to say something, it kind of ruins the flow.
