understood. i get it that you don't want to think about this in God terms. but what i'm saying is that you have the exact same problems, theistic or not. You're taking a pattern and inferring a cause.
What if we are the only intelligence around? Or us and some other folks chilling on the opposite sides of the galaxy? These instances in no way logically demand a pattern or intrinsic quality to the universe that's "Intelligence."
