It depends,
If you're talking about entry-level psychology (although I know nothing about it, don't get me wrong), you could be talking about positive reinforcement or negative reinforcement.
If you are speaking of cause and effect, it could be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Judith Butler, a truly unique and interest cultural theorist, especially in the arena of feminist studies, talks about a term called "performativity" which is much more complex than what you are saying, but still incorporates the concept of bieng what you say you are over time.
