Do things in this order:
1) document everything that you know, and make wo copies of EVERYTHING, making sure that your dates/times/facts are all accurate.
2) talk to your boss or the payroll person first, showing them your documentation and question what has happened and what steps can be taken.
3) if no satisfaction comes form that, go to an external labour agency (gov't) and find out exactly what your options are after you hear what your employers have said, and take the action recommended.
These are the steps to take, although there is still no garauntee of success. However, anything else will jus tmake more work for you. Don't forget, this may lead to job loss, although I believe that there is recourse in that matter too, but do you really want to spend time with lawyers and in court.
Most of us would say no.
