Really? The most famous sit com of all time, "The Honeymooners", lasted only one season. It is the dead beat father of shows like "Seinfeld", "M*A*S*H", "The Dick Van Dyke Show", "Freinds", and "Frasier".
Also, "Battlestar Galactica" was just as big as Star Trek for quite a while.
