I think the makers of both games would roll in their graves if they heard that comparison, despite the fact that none of them are dead.
I'm sure most people reading this thread are probably familiar enough with both games that I don't need to actually go through the differences point by point, but I really don't think it's a fair comparison. Playing NWN as if it were D2 just would not make any sense. The game is simply not structured to allow for the kind of massive chaotic destruction that you find in D2. Sure, you can skip virtually all but the most basic plot lines and still get through the game, but what would be the point of even playing if you wanted to do that?
I can see this is quickly progressing towards me ranting, so I'll stop. I played them both and liked them both, but I liked them for completely different reasons and play them when I'm in very different moods.
