I'll probably bring sweet potatoes. They are a family tradition and are WAY better than typical sweet potatoes with marshmallows.
I don't even have an exact recipe, but this is pretty much it:
8-10 sweet potatoes (the reddish/orange ones, not the yellow ones)
butter
brown sugar
cinnamon
one large can chunk pineapple, well drained
Wash potatoes and bake in oven at 400 for an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes, depending on how big the potatoes are. I've found that long, thinner ones work better than fat ones. They should be soft all the way through. When cool, slice the skin off, and put the potato in a large bowl. Once all the potatoes have been skinned, mash. Add butter and brown sugar to taste. I usually add about a half cup of each and then add more if it needs it. Add pineapple, mix well.
