Idiots
How do people learn to drive a car? I mean, come on, learning to USE a computer is a lot less difficult than driving. I'm not talking about how to repair computers or deep registry editing or anything like that.
For instance, the laws and signs and traffic are different in every state and yet MOST people can handle driving in almost any state. Some states have difficult roads to navigate and you may take a minute or two to adjust. But adjust you do and you are on your way to your destination.
But computers ... what is so difficult about click on this and type this in and hit enter? I've never had a problem with it. I wasn't born with the knowledge. Yes, I know that some people are more interested in it than others ... but if you're going to be a secretary in an office you should at least have a modicum of knowledge when it comes to computers. I'm so tired of the people who just don't seem to get it. It's laziness.
If you can drive a car ... if you can cook a T.V. dinner ... if you can fill out a 1040EZ form ... you can operate a computer. There is no mystique about it.
Oh well, our helpdesk guy is out sick today so I've been getting some of the calls. It sucks ... I remember when I did helpdesk several years ago. It sucked then too.
