After working last summer as a tech at Best Buy, I have to say that the best available comps in the store are emachines. They made a HUGE turnaround when Gateway bought them. I think they were the only machines sold in BBY that didn't use proprietary parts. We got those back for hardware failures less than any other brand.
Then again, most of the problems at ANY tech center right now revolve around spyware, which doesn't care too much what brand PC you are using
