I don't think Carrot Top is a fair comparison. Since he is a comedian(supposedly) that leads me to believe that you are refering to the humorous tags assigned to stories. The tags aren't made up by the same person and some of them are hilarious (even if it is only one or two a day).
This is just another reason to never turn on shitty corporate radio stations anyways; like there aren't enough already. One of the things I am most thankful of my father for is bombarding me with NPR from a young age. I always hated it until I listened once or twice. And someone mentioned Paul Harvey who is undoubtedly an inspiration for FARK in the first place.
