I just loaded Ubuntu Linux on my second PC at home, and I loaded both the Evolution mail client and the Thunderbird so I can try them both and decide.
I really haven'y spent a considerable amount of time, but I like the look and feel of thunderbird, probably because it is a lot like the Mozilla mail client. But I also like Evolution beacuse it has all the funcionality of Outlook, with a similar interface, but without the built-in Microslop bugginess and security canyons.
So, still have not decided, but I think I'm going to go with Thunderbird, just because. I seems really fast, esepcially on Linux, and I'm only runnind an older Dell PIII 500 machine.
Plus, if I ever do want to switch over, I can always export my stuff to Evolution anyway.
So, now that I've shown how totally wishy-washy I am, I have some stuff to do on my new Linux install.
By the way, if you run linux, you should find an old computer around and check out Ubuntu. For a brand new distro, it's pretty slick.
Peace,
Pierre
