Thunderbird 1.0 Released
So the Mozilla dudes have released Thunderbird 1.0! I was so not expecting it this soon as i am currently using v0.9 and it seems like there's a lot of work to do. I haven't installed 1.0 yet because I would like to see what others think of it first. Is it wonderful and perfect and just as mind bogglingly brilliant as we have been made to expect of Mozilla since they aced the Firefox by v1.0 or... did they rush the release? I've heard of a couple of bugs like TB hanging when trying to save messages to the sent folder. Is this true?
I share this PC with my sister and mother but i'm the only one who uses TB at the moment as they are used to using outlook express and dont like a lot of change. If TB is much better and very user friendly then I'll definitely switch TB to the default email client on the PC.
So who has tried it? Any good?
EDIT: I've just installed it half an hour ago and it looks a lot cleaner and friendly with a few more icons and a few different ones too. The account options page definitely lets you configure it more freely and the options are easy to use too. Some of it may be slightly technical for very new newbies but I'm sure they'd pick it up soon enough. The smart junk mail detection is still there in all its glory.
I have only used it for half an hour so I'll be back to comment on its performance after i have given it a good period of use.
