A lot of people didn't mention those because he probably has already heard of them, and most metalheads consider those bands "false metal."
Oh, and I said it before, but I'll say it again: Check out Opeth, especially if you like In Flames -- I believe the drummer (?), Anders used to play for Opeth a looong time ago.
