Ooh, you know, the Geminid Meteor Shower is happening right now, and it's supposed to be
spectacular. There'll be a new moon on the 12th, which will coincide with the densest part of the shower. Should be an awesome night for skywatching.
Here's what you do. Find a field somewhere WELL out of town. Take plenty of blankets and a big thermos full of hot tea or coffee or chocolate or whatever it is you kids drink these days. Couple of pillows.
