I lived in Edmonton for about 2 years. The second spring there, it was late May and the trees were all starting to get their leaves; you could feel the earth beginning to wake up. Victoria Day long weekend - WHAP! Down came the snow. Probably about 6 or 8 inches. Enough to break tons of branches off the trees in the neighbourhood - those new leaves were the perfect thing for catching and holding the snow. The roads were covered in broken tree limbs.
Ah, much as I like the occasional snowfall, I'm happy to be back in Vancouver - where I can drive to the snow whenever I want...
